The people that like their jobs the most are the ones doing the best work, making the biggest impact, and changing the most.

I’m 28 years old.  That means that I’ve already spent at least 1/3 of my life (and that’s only if I have a “natural” death when I’m 75, or so).  I haven’t done squat with my life; at least by my standards I haven’t.  That’s not to say that I haven’t worked hard to get to where I am – because I have.  I just feel I could be doing so much more.

Too many people find themselves at the end of their lives with more regrets, then they do accomplishments. That’s not to say that I won’t have regrets when I find myself slipping away into that dark abyss called “death” – because I will.  I just hope to be happy with what I’ve done with my life.

There’s something I do on a regular basis.  Whenever I’m laying down for a nap, or mindlessly staring at a television screen, I usually find myself thinking, “What the fuck are you doing? Get your ass up and do something worthwhile!“.  I really hate wasting time on things – like naps – that I could otherwise do without.  That’s one reason I don’t don’t play video games very often.  I feel better about my time I spend, when I spend it being productive.

I’m not perfect. I have many, many flaws. Everyone does. That’s why the way I choose to live my life may not apply to you.  You may feel fine with following a more secure path – and there’s nothing wrong with that.  Everyone’s different. I just hope that you feel at ease with the decisions you’ve made in your life when darkness starts to fall over your eyes.

Life’s too short.  It’s for a limited time only.

The fact is that you will eventually lose every single thing you have. You will lose every single person that's dear to you. Even if you live your life “perfectly”, you will eventually die and the people and things around you will die. Whether you fight it or not, everything you love will be taken from you in time. So enjoy it while you've got it, because it won't last. All you have are moments in time that are gone an instant after you experience them. All ships are sinking ships (some just take longer than others), so really, if the band's still playing, keep dancing until you drown. If you like doing stupid shit, keep doing stupid shit. If you're happy running up and down the street, do it. If you don't like hearing people say things you don't like, don't listen. You always have a choice about everything and you can do anything you want to do.

I'm just glad I wasn't old when I realized all of this.

I feel you. I'm 31. When did THAT happen? By my standards I haven't accomplished much either, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let it get to me. LOL I'm going to keep running 100mph with 10 projects at a time and just hope I come out on the positive side at some point. :)

Anything you do thats worthwhile is going to take a lot of time and effort. A lot of people are lazy and just accept whats given to them. Fuck that.

I completely agree. Man, I felt this way even as a child. Haha, maybe it's because I was dragged to a lot of funerals when I was young. I don't know.
